We loved being involved in a recent beautiful wedding at Gabbinbar Homestead Toowoomba for Sherry and Max. Gabbinbar Homestead is definitely one of our most favourite venues, so we are so excited to share more about this beautiful wedding. Sherry and Max’s wedding was the perfect balance of class and boho. Dried pieces and lush blooms combined in a gorgeous neutral colour palette, of whites, blush, dusty rose and pops of black and burgundy… Soo delicious!
THE CONCEPT —
It’s always amazing to see how our client’s vision evolves throughout the wedding planning process. Originally Sherry came to us with inspiration images that featured a lot of eucalyptus, some natives and warmer tones of oranges, mustards etc. As Sherry refined her concept and selected her blush bridesmaids dresses, we found that a more neutral palette with blush and dusty rose and pops of burgundy/black was going to work best.
THE INGREDIENTS —
Some of the key floral ingredients for Sherry and Max’s wedding included stunning cappuccino and local ‘wild moss’ roses, orchids, the most fluffy local scabiosa , olive leaf, dried fern and pampas grass. And don’t forget that stunning king protea in Sherry’s bouquet! (we don’t know about you, but we think the protea just made it!)
THE CEREMONY FLOWERS —
The ceremony was held in ‘The Woods’, one of the many beautiful locations within the grounds of Gabbinbar Homestead. We loved designing the beautiful floral features onto the gold stands. The dried palms and pampas grass created such a natural, boho feel, with the lush blooms adding that little bit of romance and class.
THE RECEPTION FLOWERS —
For the reception tables, we designed some beautiful free-standing long and low arrangements featuring similar ingredients as the bouquets with the addition of some other blooms and textures. These kinds of centrepieces work SO WELL on long tables. And bonus: because there is no vase or vessel, your guests can literally just pick them up and take them home with them after the wedding!
Check out this beautiful message Sherry sent us the day after the wedding *insert happy tears*
The florals were absolutely stunning, you did such an amazing job yesterday. Thank you so much! Our guests even took arrangements home with them because they were so beautiful! I’m even taking an arrangement on our mini-moon so I can enjoy it. You should be so proud!
